Antique Pocket Watch Refurbishment

A patient approach to pocket watches and pendant timepieces — disassembly, hand cleaning, mainspring replacement with matched alternatives, and careful reassembly. Chain and bow are checked and repaired where needed.

Dial Restoration & Refinishing

For watches where the dial has darkened, cracked, or lost paint over time. Conservation cleaning is always attempted first. Refinishing, when chosen, follows historical references for colour, indices, and printing.

Movement Replacement & Conversion

For watches whose original movement has been damaged beyond reasonable repair. We fit a comparable replacement caliber, discuss all options openly, and always note in writing that the movement has been changed.

Frequently Asked

How do I bring my watch in for assessment?
You are welcome to visit the workshop during opening hours — Monday to Saturday, 9:00 to 18:00 — or to send us a message through the contact section below. We will arrange a time to look at your watch together and talk through what might be appropriate.
How long does refurbishment typically take?
It varies considerably by the condition of the piece and the work agreed. A straightforward movement service on a pocket watch may take two to three weeks. Dial restoration or complex refurbishment may require six to eight weeks. We give you a working estimate at the outset and keep you informed along the way.
Will you always tell me before replacing a part?
Yes. We discuss the condition of each significant component with you before any replacement. Where we find something unexpected during the work, we pause and contact you. We do not fit parts without your knowledge and agreement.
Can you restore a watch dial without refinishing it?
Quite often, yes. We begin every dial service with conservation cleaning, which can address surface grime and minor oxidation while keeping the original surface intact. We only recommend refinishing where the original material is too far damaged to stabilise. Leaving a dial in its natural aged condition is always a valid choice, and we are happy to recommend that path.
Do you work on modern watches or only antiques?
Our primary focus is on antique and vintage timepieces, particularly pocket watches and early wristwatches. We also undertake movement work and conversion on everyday watches of more recent vintage where the owner values the case or dial and wishes to keep the piece in use. We are selective and will tell you honestly if a watch falls outside our area of work.
How is pricing determined?
Our service prices are set transparently by type: ฿3,200 for pocket watch refurbishment, ฿5,800 for dial restoration, and ฿8,100 for movement replacement. Where a watch requires a combination of services, or where parts of unusual scarcity are needed, we discuss the total cost with you before confirming the work.
